Good question, I"ll try to explain. First and foremost, finding a wife is NEVER safe, wherever it takes place. Or else... what do all these attorneys do? :) If serious, it is absolutely safe and happy if you are lucky to find your other half. A girl who will love you and who you love, who will appreciate you and stay with you whatever happens. But it is the longest way, and most difficult one. Are you ready to go for it?... You're asking about money and aren't saying a word about feelings. Why? What do YOU expect? A beautiful and obedient doll who will do what you like? Or an equal partner in your life? What is this "regular Joe"? Someone who is scared, doesn't believe in himself and concerned about his future? Or a real man who is ready to take responsibility for his life and happiness? Think about it... Finally, I would say: as everywhere, it is 50/50. There are girls who want to take advantage. It's a shame, but it is true. Alas.
