I need a chart showing the I have seen a study/chart that
showed if you stayed fully
invested in the stock market
for 10 years or more, you
would have had a 100% chance
of being profitable.

Beware - it sounds like you are interested in buying and selling stocks and timing the market. That is usualy a losers game. I suggest you learn proper investment principles. In a nutshell, if you invest in low-cost index funds and set up an asset allocation that matches your risk tolerance and is diversified, and you keep putting money away on a regular basis (say, 10% - 15% of your salary a year) and you are aware of tax ramifications, and LEAVE IT ALONE through up and down markets....then you should retire very well off. Here's a place to get a lot of great info (and you can ask for help): http://www.diehards.org/forum/ viewforum.php?f=4&sid=b6573b67 03357423190b017877428408 Biggest investment mistakes: http://www.youngmoney.com/inve sting/investing_basics/040305_ 01 Also, avoid salesmen calling themselves 'financial advisors'. http://www.bankrate.com/brm/ne ws/BoomerBucks/20061206_invest ment_advice_a1.asp |

Watch a tv show on CNBC called "Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer". Jim is a bit crazy as you will soon realize when you watch his show but the guy knows his stuff. His show focuses on stocks. He keeps investing interesting. The best thing is that he keeps it simple. He teaches ordinary people to think like and invest like the "big boys" as he calls them. When he makes a mistake he admits it and uses that experiance to help make you "mad money." |
