Is getting a Masters in I want to go back to school to
be a college professor. I
currently have a Bachelors in
Business Administration, and I
want to stick with the
business field. I was
wondering if getting a Masters
in Business Education would be
a good choice to become a
college professor (I know I
will still have to get a
doctorate), or does this
program mostly prepare you to
teach high school?

A masters in business ed would prepare you to teach high school. An MBA would likely be better preparation, although I don't know why you wouldn't try to enter a PhD program directly. To enter a PhD business program, a master’s degree is not required, although many applicants have master’s degrees in fields like economics, engineering, psychology and statistics. But business ed? Probably not a good fit. |

What can I do with a degree in I am going to school currently
for Business Education, to be
able to teach in Secondary
Education. I was wondering
what kind of classrooms will I
be able to teach with this
degree? And if I wanted to
teach marketing can I go back
and take classes instead of
majoring in it?

At my district, you could teach accounting, technology, keyboarding, computer literacy, marketing, recordkeeping. When I got my degree plan for teaching, I only had to take a couple of additional business classes. But you should check with that district for requirement since NCLB requires "highly qualified" teachers in subject areas. |
