Does anyone know where i canfind baby zanzibar themedshower tableware?
I'm having a baby shower for my sister and her baby room is in the Baby Zanzibar theme. She would love it if I could do the baby shower in teh Baby Zanzibar theme as well. But I can't find tableware and decorations. Any ideas?
You will have a hard time finding plates in that theme....Kidsline doesn't make actual shower supplies. HOWEVER....safari is always a fun shower theme and I have some really good ideas that will carry the theme home like you want: MICHAELS has wooden two dimensional wooden animals in their craft department. They have the turtles, lions, zebras, giraffes, alligators....pre-painted and everything. They large ones (about three inches across) run 50cents each but sometimes go on sale for a bit less. The smaller ones (about an inch across) run about 25 cents each. Get a lot of those and you can decorate all sorts of things (hot glue guns are a wonder.) After the shower...momma to be can decorate baby's room with them (she could use them as a border accent, make a cool nightlight with one, fashion them to some pegs and have a neat Wall Quilt hanger, etc.) You could use these figures to make placecard holders on the table if it is a sit-down meal at the shower, too!! Target has great stuffed animals that run about $5.00 for a medium sized one. You could use safari themed animals all around to decorate, too!! Once again...the parents get to take these home to decorate the nursery!! Babies R Us also has great animals (a bit more pricey) and they also have wonderful plush rattles and wrist rattles towards the front of the store (in wooden display shelves). So don't forget to take a look at those, too! Zanzibar is a kind of muted pattern so you will find, instead, a lot of BRIGHTLY colored safari items, instead. But don't forget that a role of the coordinating wall paper (border) can go a long way too. You can use that to decorate the guest book or advice book for the guests. You can somehow fashion that to make a table runner or buffet runner, too! You can cut out some of the animals from a role of that and frame them to hang up during the shower too (use inexpensive frames). A diaper cake centerpiece done in this theme....a nice one created with the Zanzibar theme. I know this sounds like a ruthless plug....but just think of a 4 or 5 tier cake made with the coordinating receiving blankets, giraffe topper, safari animal wrist rattles, custom onesie front and center also with a safari animal.....and that great Zanzibar Fleece blanket, customized with baby's name embroidered on it, with the giraffe cuddling it!! THAT could be done with Size 2 diapers and it could decorate the nursery, afterwards, until baby fits into those diapers!! A clothesline could be strung up and safari-themed clothing items could be pegged to it. Think of all the wonderful onesies and shirts with the themed layette attached!! Once again you could use those wooden animals to decorate the clothes line, too!! Just remember that you can always find Kidsline items less expensive at non-Babies R Us sites. You can find them on Ebay (new!) and Amazon...just google Zanzibar and you can find a lot of discount websites selling these items!! Have fun......and know that I would truly be delighted to create a truly custom diaper cake for this!! I simply love working with the Kidsline themed nursery decors (my own child had the Malawi theme...which was also safari but in a different color scheme!) Safari is one of my all time favorite themes!!! I wish I was throwing a safari themed shower now.....
What is the weather like inZanzibar in November?
I have researched on the internet and it says it is 'short' rainfall period. So what is the weather like in between these short periods of rainfall? How long do the 'showers' last? Is it a good idea to book a holiday to Zanzibar in November? I don't mind a bit of rain at all as long as it doesn't last too long and then the sun comes out again! (we are planning on travelling in the 2nd half of November, if this makes any difference!).
In my experience the weather there in November is much the same as Mombasa, this usually means that it is the short rains period. The rain varies from showers in the early mornings and evenings with most of the day cloudy or partly sunny, to quite a long period of rain during the day but still getting a dry period in between the showers. The temperature will not be too hot at this time either. Check out this link. http://www.allaboutzanzibar.co m/indepth/ecology/01-geography /id-01-01-climate.htm
