...The earliest winter service vehicles were snow rollers, designed to maintain a smooth, even road surface for sleds, although horse-drawn snowploughs and gritting vehicles are recorded in use as early as 1862. The increase in motor car traffic and aviation in the early 20th century led to the development and popularisation of large motorised winter service vehicles. Read full entry

Do you get your vehicle I like to make sure ours is
good to go every
fall...particularly when it
comes to antifreeze. Also,
belts and tires are pretty
high on my checklist too.

Moving to Vegas. How cold does We also want to know about
recreation. Are there places
to camp in the summer? How hot
does it get in the summer? And
what neighborhoods are good to
live in. We want an older
house with a yard for the dog
and plenty of parking for 2
vehicles, 1 5th wheel trailer
and a couple of motorcycles.
But we don't want to pay alot.
Can't afford to til we get
settled. Will have money from
the sale of our home to get
settled and put down on a
house. Would buy a house if we
find the right one. My husband
works construction, has 30
plus years experience.
Licensed Contractor. I have 30
plus years experience in
Customer Service mostly
Management. What are our
chances of getting good jobs
with good pay? We need to make
at least 40K together. What
are our chances of this? Lot's
of questions, but, we want to
be sure we are making the
right decision. Thanks!!
All of these are great answers
and I appreciate the input. I
can't decide on a best answer.
So I will put it to a vote.
Thanks All!!!!

If you want to have a large property, you are going to have to live in an older neighborhood probably closer to the strip. The newer homes are on the outskirts of town. I live in the northwest side and love it because it is higher than the city and cooler in the summer. It depends on how much money you plan on spending for a house. Prices continue to decline because they went up so high and will continue to decline for the next few years acording to the experts. Yes lots of good places to camp but probably not in the summer unless you go up in the mountains it is too hot. It should be no problem making 40k together that is not difficult at all. Lots of stuff on line. The main newspaper is the Reeves Journal and you can find them on line with everything you need. From about Sept till now, the weather is very nice not hot and is usually beautiful. It can get 30 or below some days but not usually. Very hot in the summer avg 100 plus and sometimes more during hotest period. It is a vibrant city with lots of activity. |

Service plans for new 2009 The saleswoman at the
dealership is urging me to go
with warranty extension,
platinum shield protection and
vehicle protection. My
question is, is it beneficial
to go with these protections
or are they more of a money
grab? I live in Winnipeg,
Manitoba so we have quite
wicked winters. If anyone
could provide feedback on
these plans it would be
greatly appreciated! I should
(as long as all works out)
have my new Forester on
Saturday! Very excited to own
such a great vehicle!!

We have owned at least 6 Subarus and have never had to have any warranty work done - just normal maintenance. Extended warranty plans are a good money maker for the dealership, but a big waste of money for you. |
