How do you compare eastern andwestern religions?
We got a school project a couple weeks ago and it was to compare eastern and western religions. That's like the main thing we have to do but im not sure how to do to that. Over the last couple weeks hes given us information on the top 9 practiced religions and we've taken notes on each one like branches, founder, key beliefs etc. Now how am i supposed to compare eastern and western?
Christianity is as eastern as it gets. The idea that a first century middle eastern Jew named Jesus claiming to be God Himself constitutes a western religion is utter nonsense.
How does the three Westernreligions, Judaism,Christianity, and Islam, portray God?
Compare how the three Western religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, portray God and the relationship between God and humanity. What passages from religious scriptures we support these ideas. What do these scriptures say about the nature of this relationship? How are these same themes portrayed in Roman and Greek literature, such as the Aeneid or the Iliad? What are the main differences and similarities between images of God as they are portrayed in Greek and Roman literature and those images of God portrayed in the Bible and the Qur'an?
Each believes that there is only one god, but that is the end of that simiarity. In Islam, the name of god is Allah, and is not the same as the Christian god. Middleeastern translations of the bible has all references of "god" written as Allah because the Islamic run countries, required the translations to replace the word god with the name "Allah". For those who convert to Islam, they must say there is no god but Allah, and if Allah was the true translation of god, then those taking the oath would say, "There is no Allah but Allah" Allah was one of over 300 some odd dieties worshipped and was promoted to "one true god" by Muhammed. In actuality, Allah was the moon god. Christians tend to believe that jesus was the son of god, and became part of god, which is the trinity. This is not true with all christians, as many believe Jesus was a prophet, and even the son of god, but is still seperate from god. I do not know enough about the jewish side to say for sure, but I have always been told that the Jewish god, and the Christian god "Jehovah" or its alternate spelling "Iahova" (pronounced with a J at the beginning) are one in the same.
