XLQ has a free 45 day trial. After that it is $74 for the "lite" version and $119 for the "plus" version. I've tried the program and it is really versatile and uses lots of freely available data on the web. |

These APIs generally use HTTP as their interface. More information here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R epresentational_State_Transfer To create such an interface, you need some way of handling a HTTP request, and replying with a response containing relevant data (this can be plaintext, XML, or JSON). You'd need experience in web development to implement this. For instance, a request to http://examplesite.com/api/lat est/10 would need to query some data store for the latest 10 objects, and return a representation of this data in a response. |

Is there a web API that checks As part of a service I am
building, I am looking for a
filter for outgoing links that
checks if a specified URL is
safe for a user to click.
Both Google and Yahoo! search
employ some techniques in this
area, but probably they have
some partnership with one of
security companies such as
Symantec or Mcafee.
Anyone knows of a web service
which does the same and is
publicly available?
