Underweight?
I'm 17, 5'4 and I weight 73 pounds. Is that really underweight? I mean I don't really look that skinny but when I tell people my weight they freak out and call me anorexic.
I used to get that too. If that's your natural weight and youre confident with it, dont think about what others say. I'm 5'1, 20 and about 100 pounds.
What is being underweight andhow does it affect the peopleinvolved?
People are always talking about being overweight, that people often forget about those that are underweight. I have a friend who has a BMI of 15, so she is underweight. What is it like for them and how does it differ from overweight problems and obesity?
People who are underweight get hit hard. When I had a low, unhealthy bmi people would always tell me that I need to get some help and they forced me to eat. It was a pretty painful time. Just let your friend know that you care about her and her health. Don't be too pushy though. Encourage her to gain some weight in a healthy way.
Is there a term for people whofeel better when underweightthat is not connected to aneating disorder?
I feel better when I am underweight, and have put on muscle mass to get to normal weight but hate the extra weight nontheless. I want to be slender and light, and always underweight, but am highly into nutrition and vitamins and overall health. Is there a term to describe someone who is uncomfortable being anything but underweight, but is not eating disorder related?
No its fine to be underweight if you are eating healthily and getting the nutrients your body needs. If you know you are underweight you don't have a disorder, and you just like yourself being this way If this helps your confidence its fine! stay healthy and have fun :)
