There are a number of diseases that fall under the heading of typhus. The main ones are epidemic typhus, Brill-Zinsser disease, endemic or murine typhus and scrub typhus. Anne probably died of endemic typhus at Bergen-Belsen. The biologic vector is the body louse (plural is lice) and also fleas. |

Symptoms include severe headache, a sustained high fever, cough, rash, severe muscle pain, chills, falling blood pressure, stupor, sensitivity to light, and delirium. A rash begins on the chest about five days after the fever appears, and spreads to the trunk and extremities but does not reach the face, palms and soles. A symptom common to all forms of typhus is a fever which may reach 39°C (102°F). |

Hello, It's not likely you would get a flea disease from one flea bite. Even if the flea was infected with Typhus or Bartonella (or Bartonella like organism) your immune system would very likely take care of it unless for some reason your immune system was very taxed at the time and even then it's not highly likely from one flea bite. |
