Can anybody tell me the I am in the process of
upgrading my heat pump system.
Goodman is less expensive (by
$800 to $1000)... but is Trane
worth the extra cost? I'll be
installing 14SEER system.
Goodman dealer tells me Trane
is bad because it is made of
aluminum and Goodman is made
of Copper. However, Trane
dealer tells me Goodman is a
"garbage" and it will break
down lot faster. Anybody have
opinion?

6 is the same as 1/2 dozen,of course the dealer that is selling you the equipment is gonna say theirs is the best,ive dealt with both systems,and it depends on what your wanting out of a system,if your gonna live in the house for the next 20 years then get the trane,if you plan on selling the house in the next 10 years or so the get the goodman,for longevity trne is the best,but for cost goodman is the best choice,both systems has their good points and bad so its really up to the buyer as to what is expected out of the system is which one will suit them better |

TWPo42C100a4 is a 3.5 ton unit, with 42000 Btu/h capacity. 12000 Btu/h = 1 ton The two numbers (42) are typically the MBH. |

What is the wholesale price of I mean the price a contractor
pays Trane when he sells a
heat pump to a customer and
installs it.

That would be priviliged information between the contractor and distributor. I will tell You that wholesale pricing on Trane equipment is pretty high compared to other manufacturers, but it is very well made equipment. |
