Very very old ballerina's used third position because ballet used to be done in shoes similar to character shoes. It was nearly impossible to get a good fifth position in those shoes, so the dancers used third. Now we use fifth because third looks messy and fifth is a variation of third

the stop codon. beacause then it would tack on a bunch of useless aminos to make the entire protein useless. And never be able to code for a good copy of that protein again. If it was an esssential protein, the cell is dead, unless it has another copy of the sequence.
