One of the many, I'm afraid. It is laughably easy to sit in front of the tube, day after day, for hours on end and live vicariously through the characters on the screen. Children do it...they emulate what they see, their play is filled with super heroes and such. Women do it, knowing their favorite soap characters most intimate details as well as they know the contents of their own closets, and more, they debate and squabble over the happenings on these shows. Reality/game shows, where the success of a contestant/candidate is dependent upon a viewer forming a bond with and voting for one above another, regardless of the persons merit. Media, in all its forms, is addictive...how unfortunate it is that we, and yes I am including myself, must find television, etc, as an escape from ourselves. |

a rerun is Walker Texas Ranger
with Chuck Norris, Clarence
Gilyard, Shree Wilson, Noble
Willingham, Nia Peeples, and
Judson Mills. I enjoy the
karate action that is used by
the Texas Rangers.
