how much can you earn from i was thinking about getting
my mba so i can teach online
classes. what is the average
salary for teaching 1 online
class?

I just looked into it for myself, and through a teacher continuing education company that contracts with a few different colleges, the salary is $85 per student. So, if you get 40 people in the course, that's $3400. However, there's no guarantee you'll have that many people in your class. |

interview questions for hey guys, i managed to get an
interview to teach an online
art class. but i'm not sure
what kind of questions the
interviewer will ask, so i'm
not sure how to prepare. it
isn't until tomorrow at 6:00pm
so i really need to get going
on that. i have gone over the
traditional teacher interview
questions such as classroom
management, why you chose this
career, why should we hire you
but i need to know the
questions and answers that
would be relevant to landing
an online teaching job.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks.

Online schools tend to focus on teaching styles and how you react to students learning in different ways and on different time schedules. They will probably ask about your computer knowledge and how you will adapt your lessons to the online environment. |

Teaching a class Online...?
I would like to teach a course
on Substitute Teaching online.
My class wold help educate
hopeful subs, as well as those
that are veterans of the
field, or just merly
interested. I would provide a
GREAT deal of information, as
well as a bounty of printable
forms (Which is a subs dreams)
On everything imaginable. I
would like to teach this for a
small price of like 5 bucks a
class or something.
Does anyone know where i can
do this? I know of another
site called
"universalclass.com" but there
are a trillion classes already
there. I want a place where
people can really find my
class. H-E-L-P and if YOUR
interested in my class e-mail
me about abcjmr12@yahoo.com.
But right now I am just in
need of helpof websites that
can host me for free.

You could register a domain and set up your own website. It could have a resource section with your forms, some sort of message board where people could communicate with each other and a chat site where substitute teachers could chat and share information. If you don't have the technical knowledge to do this yourself, there are a lot of internet companies you could contract with to do this. They could help you generate a registration system and password system so you could track it's use and limit certain sections of your website to "class members only." You could also set up an email listserve for teachers to share ideas and questions, offer to present seminars to local educators and build a resource library or something along those lines that you could share with people in our community. You would though be essentially starting your own business if this is something you are hoping to generate income from - so I'd also caution you to draw up a plan and research it before committing too much money. Your local Chamber of Commerce could be a great resource for this or could point you in the direction of resources to help you draft a business plan. |
