Well, I'm Italian and we have simple spelling-rules. Vocals and consonants sound the same in every words, smtn like Spanish reform....And I have to admit that, at the first times of English learning, spelling is very difficult for us, but after a lot of practise sonds becam efamiliar and all became easier. Maybe a specific reform as the Italian one could be useful for English as for foreing learning people. |

Information on German spelling I am collecting information in
English about German spelling
reform in 1996. But I cannot
find the latest information on
some aspects.
Is the new orthography still
not obligatory in Bavaria and
Nordrhein-Westfalen?
Why were those two states
permitted to instruct schools
in the state that they do not
have to use the new
orthography even if there were
(are) some states that
objected the reform?
Is the new spelling system
obligatory only in education
and the government still now?
Is the new spelling aimed to
be obligatory in any occasions
except personal notes in the
future?
