...According to Roman mythology, the Secular Games began when a Sabine man called Valesius prayed for a cure to his children's illness and was supernaturally instructed to sacrifice on the Campus Martius to Dis Pater and Proserpina, Celtic and Greek deities of the underworld. Some ancient authors traced official celebrations of the Games as far back as 509 BC, but the only clearly attested celebrations under the Roman Republic took place in 249 and in the 140s BC. It really depends on the game..if it is something that you are questioning about it being good for you spiritually then it is probably not a good game to play...same with books, movies, tv..media in general... It sounds super corny but I often go if Jesus was sitting here (which I guess in reality he is) would I watch, play, read this? If the answer is no..I find something else to do. |

Santa is not a religious figure. He is affilliated with a religious holiday, but is himself utterly secular. There are no religious aspects to him. Perhaps if your workplace is THAT PC, you might try 'secret friend'. |

Is it time for good, secular, America is falling behind in
the world because it refuses
to deal with reality;
preferring, instead, to play
hocus-pocus games while the

it.

What do you mean take this country back from the religious types... If history serves me correctly, wasn't the freedom of religion (Christianity to be more exact) one of the reasons for the founding of America.... It seems to me people have taken God out of as much as possible more and more as we keep going forward. We did not have the problems in schools with drugs, shootings, teachers having sex with students 20, 30, 60 plus years ago.The only thing that has changed is God is not allowed there anymore. |
