What is the difference between It seems that a lot of people
have lumped the two together
in online explanations.
Someone suggested that the
cabinet scraper is actually
more like a spokeshave. Does
anyone know for sure?

A scraper is a hard edge wide thin flat blade that is drawn, held in a vertical position, across the work to scrape the surface. A spokeshave is for shaping wood and taking off edges, totally a different tool. These days there are a number of chemical solutions that are used to remove surface varnishes etc that do not remove so much of the substrate material, important if it is veneered. DWD |

Lay down plastic to cover the entire floor. Spray water all over the ceiling to get it very damp. Use a wide putty knife to remove. Don't forget the safety glasses. Good luck. |
