...Privatization is the incidence or process of transferring ownership of a business, enterprise, agency or public service from the public sector (government) to the private sector (business). In a broader sense, privatization refers to transfer of any government function to the private sector including governmental functions like revenue collection and law enforcement.Chowdhury, F. Democrats putting out really Correct me if I'm wrong, but
didn't we arrive at something
in the neighborhood of a
consensus that multinational
corporatism, deregulation and
privatization were what went
wrong with our society then
vote for the people we
expected to reverse it? In the
first half year of this
democratic admin / majority,
I've observed nothing but
escalation and acceleration of
multinational corporatism,
deregulation and
privatization. Describing what
the democrats are doing as
putting out fire with gasoline
is a gross understatement.
This is putting out fire with
gasoline and then when a small
fire bursts into a raging
inferno, concluding that what
they did wrong was not putting
ENOUGH gasoline on the fire.
Are these lunk heads capable
of learning from a mistake or
are they going to just keep
dumping larger and larger
doses of gasoline onto the
conflagration until there is
nothing left for it to burn?
(that's question #1)
(question #2) How did fascism
turn into 'liberalism'
overnight by the single
criterion of a rotation of
personalities.
Fid, you're right. That is
precisely the source of my
impatience and irritation with
the democrats: I expected a
substantive and dramatic shift
in philosophy and attitude,
and I got vanilla ice cream
with vanilla sauce and vanilla
sprinkles on top (I wanted
cherry!) It's probably not as
catastrophic as I make it out,
but that's the level of my
frustration.

Too much was expected from Obama, he was seen as an agent of radical change by the disenfranchised and the poor. He is only a liberal academic with persuasive arguments that moved people, not Joe Hill. He has not appointed anyone radical to his team at all, mostly they are Clintonians and sober and sensible types fresh from Ivy League. The US has a huge tradition of radicalism, it runs like a river through US affairs. You were founded on radicalism, your founding fathers were the first US radicals, where are they in Obama's team? Some imagination please Mr President? |
