wether is
Christianity,Islam,Judaism,Tao
ism,Buddhism,Athiest etc etc.
why do we as people think our
religion is better than
someone elses? Are we that
conceitied or are we just
blind to see that there is no
true answer out there of
exisitance of a higher being.
I do believe in this higher
being and im aware of his
presence. But why is religion
becoming a topic that people
around the world are fighting
and killing themselves over.
Will society ever accept all
religions? Will religion
eventually be erased from
society? Will this higher
being show his or her face on
this Earth?

I understand what you're asking. It's wrong to act better than someone else because of religion (or anything else, for that matter! race, age, etc.) However, if you check out the Bible (I'm Catholic too), it says that Jesus really is the only way to God. "No one goes to the Father except through me." "I am the way, the truth, and the life." So as a Catholic, that's what I believe. So, I really do believe that my faith in Jesus is the only way that I can be saved, and I want everyone else to have that personal relationship too. However, that does not make me better than anyone else, and I should not force my beliefs on anyone. I should love everyone no matter what religion, or lack of it. And I should not act like my beliefs are better than anyone else's. Hope I explained my views clearly. |

Why does every religion Why do these Christians keep
believing that the only way to
get to heaven is through
Jesus? Thats just one
particular fictional character
for that religion. Every other
religion has some other idea
that they will go to heaven
and everyone else who doesnt
follow them will go to hell.
What makes every religion
believe only theirs is right
while all others are wrong?
Its just a mere accident at
birth that you were this
religion. Which belief could
be right and which is wrong? I
dont get how people could
continue to believe in this
while all the other religions
are against them.

Most people like to hear that they are right, and they like to see themselves as superior. This is unfortunately one of the traits left over from the caveman days, a type of survival. Therefore, I believe that regarding religion, people like to see themselves as right in their beliefs, but since most religions have the same basic principles, there is no wrong one. Each person must just make that decision themselves as to what they want to believe, in a more powerful being, or not. As to the Heaven vs. Hell thing, it is considered to be the ultimate paradise to go to heaven, whereas Hell is the punishment. People just like to see other suffer while they triumph. We're a cruel species. |

Does your religion blocks you I have to say, I quit my old
religion because I found that
religion before judgemental
and very stereotyping. I used
to believe in all the things
my religion said, until I
discover the world outside and
found out that it wasn't true.
What's worse, my religion
doesn't accomodate to do good
to a certain kind of people,
and be kind to someone whom
that it condemns, like
homosexuals, jewish, etc.
Am I wrong for quitting
religion because I wanted to
do good to all mankind and not
being judgemental and negative
stereotyping?

God had the Bible written in his words as a guide for all his creation (you and me)the Bible is our owners manual. Christian life is walking in spirit with God. Religion is whatever you want it to be. Being a Christian doesn't limit what Church you go to. A Christian goes to Church to please God and to hear his word spoke(the Bible). Being a Christian (born again) is the only way to Heaven. Religion is just a word.
