Anything to correctastigmatism besides refractivesurgery?
I started wearing glasses at age 5 due to near-sightedness in both eyes. By around age 13 my eyes were perfect and I ceased wearing glasses. Over the next five years my right eye became very slightly near-sighted again and my left eye became very far-sighted - it now has astigmatism. I'm wearing glasses again almost every day (when before it was all day every day) because about a year of using contact lenses bothered me. I don't understand why my left eye deteoriated, but even with my new glasses on I have blurry vision sometimes. Will it get better, or is eye surgery the only option in the future? (Currently 20 years old.)
There are eye exercises that can help with your eyesight. I suffered from astigmatism and myopia and was able to eliminate them completely with eye exercises. I am seeing perfectly ever since. These exercises are completely safe. Here is a program you might find interesting: http://www.refractiveeyedisord ers.com/ryv Best regards,
Are there any contacts thatare good years afterrefractive surgery?
I had keratotomy done on my eyes 13 yrs ago. I'm interested in contacts for my trouble seeing close up and my astigmatism. The trial pair that I tried on today did not work and nothing else was ordered.
go back and talk it over with your optometrist
Whats the advantages anddisadvatages of havingrefractive surgery to correctmyopia?
My friend had it and now she can see perfectly. She can swim, run, do all the things that are restricted by wearing glasses. The disadvantages are the possibility of still having to wear glasses in later life something going wrong the cost. I know when you work out the cost of glasses or contacts over your lifetime it is fine but it is the initial outlay. All things aside, if I could have it I would. My eyes however are continuing to deteriorate slowly so I am not a candidate for surgery
