ratio?????????
can somebody help me with
ratio i have no idea how to do
this question?
During a paint sale, a
hardware store sold 33 gallons
of flat paint and 57 gallons
of high-gloss paint. What is
the ratio of gallons of
high-gloss sold to the total
gallons sold?
feel free to tell me if im
dumb 4 not knowing how to do
this lol

You're not dumb! Everyone gets stuck in math at some point. Its a little harder when you're homeschooled when you can't ask for help so you came to the right place. It works like this: high gloss to high gloss AND flat paint 57 to 33+57 57:90 57 and 90 are both divisible by three because 5+7=12 and 9+0=9 and 12 and 9 are multiples of three. The "to" becomes a colon : and you check your work. The answer is a ratio that is reduced to it's smallest form. It's easier to understand 19:30 than 57:90 but really both are right! Below are my favorite links for math help. Bet you get an A+ |

How do they choose differntial Some cars have a low ratio
differential like 4.50 and
higher bigger gear sets with
two overdrives.
Some have a high 2.68
differential ratio and higher
ratio gears.
Some have 2.68 high ratio
differential and lower smaller
gears.
How do they choose this and
why?
What is it based on?

based on Horsepower and what the function of the vehicle is. the lower the the faster you will reach HP/torque curve of efficiancy. if engine can produce high RPM's and HP then high gears can be used because engine wont bog down from lack of power while trasferinjg power to wheels. Lower HP engines use the lower gearing to keep them in their HP range while trasfering power. The lower the gear the harder it is to turn, but produces quicker results, the differential gear will determine top speed. With low gears overdrives are needed so that engine isnt at max RPM and slow speed. The higher the gear is the easier it is to turn but takes longer to get to HP range. Tire size can also affect gearing. How much power does it take to turn a larger wheel in comparison to a smaller one. example: lets say a monster truck with big 44 inch tires will have the lowest gear possible in the differential and low to mid range gears in transmission so that the HP of engine is utilized to turn the big tires. A 4 cylinder engine can do it if geared right. Then a race car has a high HP engine and really tall gears so that max speed can be obtained. lower gears go through RPM range faster sacrificing top speed and higher gears produce higher top speeds and sacrifice quickness. |

What is the ratio of venomous My friends and i had an
arguement on the Ratio of
venomous snakes to non
venomous snakes. Please what
is the ratio? Which is more
|

There are about 2700 known species of snake. About 375 of those are venomous and considered deadly to humans. That means about 14% of snakes are dangerous to people. 86% are non-venomous. So I guess the ratio would be 1.4/10 In any case there are many more harmless snakes than there are dangerous ones. |
