What causes a high populationof rabbits in Australia?
In 1859, 24 rabbits were released into Australia. By 1950 grew to an estimated of 600,000,000 rabbits.
there aren't many predators for rabbits in Australia...most animals that hunt rabbits are of the wolf/dog family....dingos are too slow to catch them. Plus the environment is perfect for rabbits in sunny Australia. One last thing, where do you think the term *ucks like a rabbit comes from? Rabbits breed constantly, their numbers can inflate about 20% within a generation.
what happened to thepopulation of rabbits inaustralia? ?
what happened to the population of rabbits in australia? how did it happen?
I don't quite know what you want to find out here, but have a look at this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R abbits_in_Australia It may help.
How about all the Rabbits inAustralia, can you eat them toextinction?
Some say they are delicious and the best way to kill one to eat is for one person to grab the ears and another person to grab the hind feet, and then pull until they break the neck.
Am I guess you could do that. I find it kind of interesting that the rabbits are not 'native' to Australia but are version of the European Wild Rabbit. But you are correct, Australia has a serious rabbit problem and I guess you could eat them to decrease the population. I just don't understand why they don't eat them to decrease the population rather then just killing them and wasting the meat. http://www.american.edu/projec ts/mandala/TED/rabbit.htm
