The salts pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and pseudoephedrine sulfate are found in many over-the-counter preparations either as single-ingredient preparations, or more commonly in combination with antihistamines, paracetamol (acetaminophen) and/or ibuprofen. Sudafed is a trademark for a common brand which contains pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, though Sudafed PE does not. Cirrus contains pseudoephedrine in conjunction with cetirizine (an antihistamine). Pseudoephedrine?
I'm taking demazin and
cold&flu tablets and both
contain pseudoephedrine (I'm
sick with a cold or the flu at
the moment)
Anyway, they tend to make me
drowsy but I've just noticed
that they also relax me and
help me focus a lot more.
Normally, I find it extremely
difficult to study, even for 5
minutes because I can't focus
and in turn I get stressed
out.
However, I'm suddenly in a
very focused, relaxed mood and
am having no troubles studying
at all :S Is this an effect of
the pseudoephedrine?
Also what are the effects of
combining pseudoephedrine and
codeine-ibuprofen pills (such
as nurofen plus) because I
took them last night and found
myself in a bit of a delerius
and confused state? Is it
dangerous to combine the two?

Codein is an opiate drug. It suppresses the cough center and is also a sedative acting centrally. Peudoephedrine is a sympathomimetic drug and a mild stimulant. So these two are not to be used together. |

Will pseudoephedrine mixed I've got a really bad case of
constipation. My friend Tim
told me that if I mix
pseudoephedrine with salt,
muriatic acid and acetone in
plastic bottle and shake it up
and then ingest it it will (in
his words), "loosen up my
butthole". Is this true? I've
tried regular OTC medications
and other home remidies and
nothing has helped!

What is the difference between Now that my state (the whole

sales of medicines containing
pseudoephedrine due to meth
lab activity, I have not been
able to get my trusty,
non-drowsy sudafed. I have to
go to the store when the
pharmacist is in and get it
from behind the counter. Since
the pharmacist was not there
when I went today, I bought
phenyephedrine. What are the
major differences?

the drugs do the same thing (decongestants), they are just a little bit different. kinda like Tylenol vs Advil; both are pain relievers, but are different drugs. a lot of people say pseudoephidrine works better, but other people don't notice a difference. |
