...Income redistribution evens the amount of income that individuals are permitted to earn, in order to correct the ineffectiveness of a market economy to remunerate based on the amount of labor expended by an individual. The objective of moderate income redistribution is to avoid the unjust equalization of incomes on one side and unjust extremes of concentration on the other sides. Today, income redistribution occurs in some form in most democratic countries, most commonly through income-adjusted taxes (in which the amount of tax paid is directly connected to one's income), some of which goes to fund welfare programs to assist the poor, or to all of society. Progressive income taxes are a widely used method of income redistribution. The difference between the Gini index for an income distribution before taxation and the Gini index after taxation is an indicator for the effects of such a taxation. Read full entry

Do you support the Cass Sunstein who is an
advisor to The One, advocates
for a Second Bill of Rights
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
Second_Bill_of_Rights) and
believes that private property
should be legal to
redistribute.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! That is communism. So go, get up out of your chair, go to the window and stick you head your head and and shout, "IM MAD AS HELL AND IM NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" @ No-KIll-Eye: wow what communist wonderland did you come from? If you own your house, it is private porperty and it is illegal for anyone to do anything with it because it is yours. If you borrowed form a bank for it than the bank is the true owner so its not your property. I would rather keep the fruit of my labour and have it as my property than have the government own everything. If I build a house with my hands on my farm than it should be mine, if I work in a factory to save and buy a house it should be mine. I do not trust the government wtih the thingsw I work for, and it wouldnt work because people would stop working for things. |

What would it take to make What changes would it take to
make Obamas forceful property
(money) redistribution plans
socialist?
"Property redistribution or
wealth redistribution, there
is a difference and you should
know it."
Money you earn for work
becomes your property. You
traded part of your live in
the form of some service for
it, so it is a value exchange.
You should know this. The
right to have private property
is at the root of freedom &
liberty.
AIS, I didn't ask about
Reagan. It just so happens I
think he was a bad president
given his vast increases in
government size and power.
Carpe, the democrats and
republicans equally supported
the bailout - McBama supported
it fully. Thanks for your
note, but it does not answer
my question.
Noah, perhaps you wish to
discuss semantics and the
difference between "wealth
re-distribution" and
"spreading the wealth". Heck,
if you got all the info go
ahead and add how progressive
income taxes are NOT a form of
wealth redistribution!
