Impact of racial marketing andpromotion of Basketball?
Do you believe the promotion and marketing of basketball in the United States is inherantly racist and if so do you believe it has any impact on how the game is played, players recruited etc? For example, the game is marketed as a largely "black" sport, urban, hip-hop oriented and much of the focus is placed on a style of play favored more by black players than those of other ethnicities. Does this hurt or help the black community? Does this mean less opportunities for players of other ethnicities? Or is it all about who is the better player rather than who is more marketable in the current business model of the NBA?
I think it makes it a little harder for people of othe races to prove themselves.
What kind ofmarketing/promotion do collegefootball teams do?
I mean to spur fan attendance to the games.
Besides their sales of specialty items... Publicity and radio/TV broadcasts are big time Local papers, TV, news, radio all "promote" the games, ticket sales and availability etc etc as "a public service" -- they do not sponsor. Of course, booster owned business, including media, make sure that they promote to fans. News constantly reports on weather etc traffic etc. airline, hotel etc availability, bowl packages offered thru _______, _______, & __________ the hype doesn't end. I don't even think pro teams get as much coverage for all that -- especially compared to areas where college ball is big time.
What is the best smallinexpensive marketingpromotion you have seen?
You know like pens with a company logo or name, or posties, or coffee cups, Etc. I have all these things but am looking for something inexpensive that's unique, clever, and really pops out. I like the m&m's idea with a corporate logo on em. Anyhow you get my idea, do you have any ideas?
What type of product or service are you marketing? The best marketing tool with a budget or no budget is having a quality product or service that inspires people to talk about who you are and whats unique about your product or service ( viral marketing). Always quantify your marketing dollars whats the return on the marketing dollars that we have spent. In short for every dollar you spend what return are we getting, are we gaining new customers with our company logo on pens and coffeee mugs. If not are the coffe mugs boosting awareness for our brand or service, and is that awareness being converted into customers? The rule of thumb in martking is for every 10 people you reach 1 turns into a customer. Whats the marketing budget?
