I'm with you dude. Can I be a canvasser... canvaser, can I spell canvasser? no! All parties must be accompanied by another party in the same street so that when you get bored of one, or too drunk and abusive, you can go to the other one and be welcomed in with open arms. All employees are allowed 40 Mondays a year off sick, no questions asked. All pubs are to stay open 27 hours a day, the extra 3 hours are to be funded by the E.U. Taxis are to be subsidised by the government and the national lottery. All doorways are to be fitted with urinals, comfy chairs and little telly's to watch while you eat your kebab. Bus lanes are to be replaced with drunk lanes. All pubs are to have a professional philosopher on call to come and listen to drunken ramblings at any time of day and give their support and offer useful suggestions. All pool tables are to have their pockets increased in size by 50%. Somebody write this down !
Is Libertarianism a politicalparty that supportstraditional moral andpolitical philosophies?
If not what a political party that does? What is a political party that supports modern moral and political philosophies? Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Not sure of the specifics, but Libertarianism is an abstract politcal concept, not an actual party or party line. You could describe a party as Libertarian, however. A Libertarian party would hold the common belief that an individual should be as free to run their own life as possible. Obviously in modern times you dont get pure Libertarian parties because in essence they support the idea that we do not need political parties to be governed. Assuming you are in the UK, you might want to look at the Liberal Democrats, who have historically been more Libertarian, as their name suggests. Arguably, all parties hold modern moral and political philosophies. The Conservatives have traditionally been the least progressive party, however, as the essence of conservatism is the preservation of the prevailing political status quo, ie: change should happen slowly and organically. Can you clarify the question at all?
What political party should Ibe grouped with?
I support abortion, do not support gay/homosexual/lesbian marriages. I believe everyone should be taxed equally, if rich people have to pay 30% on thier income tax, poor people should have to too, it's only fair. I think anything socialist or communist is bad, I think government should be smaller not bigger. I think going green is rubbish. So, what political party should I be grouped with?
The birthday party!
