Poland............................?
Hey! Im from England and im thinking of driving through Poland on a road trip through Europe and check Poland out. Do lots of Polish people speak fluent English in Poland? Thank you. :]
You can stop by in my village and I'll make sure you spend some quality time! Not only big cities and towns are worth seeing - the real Polish experience is being able to see what Polish village looks like. I bet you'd be surprised to know how many young people in villages can actually speak English. Not fluently, of course, but the level is communicative. I could cook you some traditional Polish food - you'd love it!
How Long did the Invasion ofPoland last in 1939? Wherethere specific battles withinthe Invasion?
How Long did the Invasion of Poland last in 1939? Where there specific battles within the Invasion, or is the invasion in it self considered a battle (I saw something on line called the Battle of Poland)? Can someone summarize it briefly for me?
The campaign lasted 34 days- if you count until the surrender of major forces. Armed resistance by groups of soldiers lasted over 6 months (groups like Major Hubal's) until they were rounded up and murdered The germans attacked September 1, 1939. The major battles there were at Mokra, Bzura, the Hel peninsula. There are other famous battles- like Westerplatte and Wegierska Gorka (also the Gdansk/ Dantzig Post Office defence) but they are "small" fights (100- 300 soldiers) against overwhelming odds. The russians attacked Poland in the back (despite a "friendship" treaty) on September 17. Not much resistance (all the soldiers were fighting the germans) In the defence of Poland the air force did very well (despite having antique planes against the german best) and downed more planes than they lost. The cavalry units also did well. Armour (the little Poland had) was not used effectively
How can I ship a box fromPoland to florida at anaffordable rate?
I am moving from Poland to Tampa, FL and I want to take my things with me. I don't care if it will take a long time, I just want to know the best way for me to move my things from Poland to the US. Mostly will be clothes that will be too expensive to take with me on the airplane. Thanks a lot.
Do you just want to mail it? Or do you want to ACTUALLY ship it, on a ship? Tampa is a port city you can check at the port authority in tampa and ask if there are any ships that have Poland on their route. A friend of mine did that for the European country she lived in, and is able to ship for like 20$. Also, those links someone left are only for NY or Chicago area, IDK if you noticed that. But just like someone already said, it might be easier to buy new clothes in the US.
