Um, there is no such word as "diatrive", so i think you mean "diatribe" which is also similar to "pejorative." *Inhales....* Well, YOU could answer this yourself by Googling "online dictionary", and search for those words in the website. Then you could compare the answers you get. But I may as well do that now, so here: Pejorative :- Disapproving word: a word, expression, or affix that expresses criticism or disapproval. Diatribe :- A bitter, sharply abusive denunciation, attack, or criticism: e.g, repeated diatribes against the senator. So, from the above definitions, it sounds like a prejorative only expresses criticism and disapproval, whereas a diatribe is more fierce or serious, depending on how you interpret it. Also, diatribe sounds more sort of long-term (as in taking action) than pejorative (which just sounds like a comment or statement). Hope this helps! |
