He was concerned that us, Europe, would go to war with eachother again. He was all for a Federal European Union, he even stated a United States of Europe. It wasnt an act of union purely with England, it was Europeanwide, he planned for a 'special relationship'; with France, similar to what we have with the Dominion - colonies (Australia, Canada etc)..Baisaccly, it was an early EU. General De Gaul was against working with England, he was a twonk of a leader. |
