What are the laws regarding I am planning on getting my
class A license and a long
haul truck driving job. I have
had to take pain meds in the
past for back pain. Is it
legal to take prescription
pain meds while driving the
big rigs. The pain meds that
work for me are
oxycodone(percacet) or
methadone.

I know that it is against the law to use methadone and drive a truck but I am not sure about the other meds. I would call Human Resources and ask what the policy is regarding prescription medications and driving. |

What type of pain meds and how I'm writeing a story and I
don't know much about
perscriptions. What type of
pain meds would someone
recieve in the hospital? They
have recently been bleeding
internally and have a broken
leg, arm and wrist. (Hit by a
car) What kinds of meds would
they have perscribed for later
use?

Either hydrocodone (Vicodin, Lortabs, Lorcet, Norco) or for more severe pain Oxycodone (Percocet). They would be taken every 4-6 hours or as needed for pain. While being treated in the ER they would probably have pain meds possibly morphine put into their IV along with being sedated if it was traumatic so they would relax, usually Verced. Verced is popular because it not only relaxes you so much you don't care if you have a bone sticking out of the skin but later on you have amnesia about whatever they did while you were on it. I was told it was pretty guresome and painful when I had my leg set but didn't remember a thing about the procedure the next day. Verced is also used when you have surgery and must be awake. You respond while you're getting it. In other words if they want you to move this way or that or need to ask questions about sensations you will answer but later you'd think you slept through the whole thing. Good luck |

How long before pain meds for My poor German Shepard! He got
a big boo boo tonight. He was
running the fence line very
fast, neighbors got a new dog,
and got cut very bad by a
branch. It took surgery and 35
staples. He has just came out
of the anesthea alittle bit
ago enough to eat alittle. So
I was able to give him his
pain meds. He's crying, how
long before it takes effect? I
feel so bad for him!
