Questions/Answers
Oliver Cromwell?
I've got to do a homework on whether Oliver Cromwell was a hero or villain- I've got all the hero points, but I need something about him being a villain, mostly the theatre, cristmas and other thing bit. I need it really quickly! Please!
Cromwell led a Parliamentary invasion of Ireland from 1649–50, with the twin aims of eliminating the military threat posed by the alliance of the Irish Confederate Catholics and English Royalists (signed in 1649) to the Commonwealth and punishing the Irish for their rebellion of 1641. Army soldiers broke into the town, killed 2,000 Irish troops and up to 1,500 civilians and burned much of the town.
What was major conflictsbetween Oliver Cromwell andCharles I?
I'm trying to figure out a good topic for my essay, and I have Oliver Cromwell vs Charles I. I really want to break down into a major conflict, so could anyone help me out? What were the main conflicts between the two of them? My class hasn't discussed Cromwell yet, so I really have no notes, and I want a topic to look for before I go into the library. Thanks if anyone can help.

what do oliver cromwell andking charles the first sharein common? what are theirdifferences?
why did oliver cromwell bring his army into parliament? how did king charles respond to the proposals from the people, brought to him by oliver cromwell? those are the only blank questions i left.
Oliver Cromwell and King Charles I had few things in common. They both ruled England. They both had struggles with Parliament, trying to get their needs answered. They both felt called by God to rule- in greatly different ways. The Parliament made demands on Charles, but Cromwell was not their main mouthpiece- he was a military leader more than a legislator. The Parliament asked for more power from the king- the right to decide factors relating to foreign affairs and taxes. Charles refused their wishes.
