The old Spanish Trail was a trade route of the early 19th century from Santa Fe, N.M. to the Pueblo de Los Angeles. It was a very arduous route that started to the north from Santa Fe into S/W Colorado, looped into Utah then traveled S/W through Nev. and finally into Calif. The way was very difficult because it crossed several mountain ranges and across the arid Mojave Desert. |
