Texas: San Antonio: Is thereany type of on roadtransportation that a 12-14year old cane drive?
No bus.
There is no form of motorized licensed vehicle which can be driven legally on the public roads anywhere in the state of Texas under the age of 15 years old. At 15 y/o a hardship or minors restricted drivers license can be provided or a temporary learning permit can be provided to those students between 15 and 18 y/o who are graduates of a drivers education program and are currently enrolled in school or have a GED or high school diploma. See the Texas Department of Public Safety Website for information regarding driverlicense regulations and laws in Texas.
Pit stops between san antonioand dallas?
Planning a road trip from San Antonio to Dallas with my husband and 7 year old daughter. Any ideas for family friendly pit stops?
Up the I-35 corridor there are any number of things to see and do. Not knowing your interests, it would be tough to know exactly what sort of things you like, but here are a few suggestions: The Snake Farm (never been there, but my daughter & family have. She says it's very...snaky.) Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch and Caverns. Landa Park in New Braunfels...very nice park. The Children's Museum in New Braunfels...exceptional! Schlitterbahn...if you're going in the summer Gruene...step back in time. Wonder Cave The Outlet Malls between New Braunfels & San Marcos Aquarina Springs...now owned by the college. The glass-bottomed boat rides are cool. The Bob Bullock Museum in Austin is a wonderful place for everyone; don't miss it! A tour of the Texas State Capitol should be required for every citizen of the Lone Star State In Waco is the Texas Ranger Museum. In Corsicana is the fruitcake factory. Not just fruitcake...lots of bakery goodies. Of course, once you get to Dallas, you'll never run out of things to do, but if you have the opportunity to get over to the Fort Worth Zoo and to the Dallas botanical gardens, they are both very worth seeing! Have a good trip!
Roadtrip from Houston to SanAntonio, any fun stoppingplaces on the way?
Taking a road trip tomorrow from Houston to San Antonio, was wondering if there are any cool places we can stop by/visit on the way. Anything. Outdoor/Indoor. There are 5 of us, guys and girls, and we are from 24-28 years old. We are taking I-10 straight shot.
Look for the Forbidden City in Katy. Visit the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site (exit for FM 1458). Tour the brewery in Shiner, and make sure to have lunch at the Shiner Bar and Restaurant downtown. Stop at the HUGE Buckee's convenience store at the exit to Gonzales, just for fun. Check out the brand new Guadalupe County rest area, and see how far such things have come since their inception. Visit D&D Farm & Ranch Mart in Seguin for a look at all things cowboy. Have fun!
