...The Nuremberg Laws () of 1935 were antisemitic laws in Nazi Germany which were introduced at the annual Nazi Party rally in Nuremberg. The laws classified people as German if all four of their grandparents were of "German or kindred blood", while people were classified as Jews if they descended from three or four Jewish grandparents. A person with one or two Jewish grandparents was a Mischling, a crossbreed, of "mixed blood".In many cases a person with exactly two Jewish grandparents was deemed a "Jew" under the Nuremberg laws. There were a number of legal tests used, to determine if such a person --with precisely two Jewish grandparents-- was to be classified as a "Jew" or a "Mischling" under the laws. See Mischling Test. The Nuremberg Laws deprived Jews of citizenship and prohibited marriage between Jews and other Germans. Hunt, L. (2009). The Making of the West: Peoples and Cultures, Vol. C: Since 1740. Complicated one.I don't want to be an apologist here.I will say that there was a stranglehold on those professions, and that's why they were enacted. What it led to is another matter. |

Easy way to explain is it decided who was considered a jew and who wasn't if 3 out 4 of your grandparents practiced judaism, even if not currently but at one time or another, and you didn't you were still considered jewish this was just one of the first steps in discrimination against the jews. there were many other laws that went with it this is your best bet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N uremburg_Laws |
