Why does London Mayor story Watching UK news and can't
understand why who is elected
London Mayor is headline news?
I understand London is capital
but there are loads of other
cities up and down the country
who have mayors and lucky if
they are mentioned in local
news?
Does anyone share my point of
view?
I think someone getting
stabbed outside the your
capital is more news worthly
rather than a mayor election!
I understand it will be noted
in the news but why did it
have to be a headline for 3
days. That is my point!
I am interested in what goes
on everywhere

London is the capital and has a population in excess of Scotland, Wales and Northern Island. In addition, it has a budget in excess of many small countries. The mayor is thus in charge of a very powerful area and the post is therefore as important as the Chief Ministers of cotland, Wales and NI. In addition, this year has seen a huge defeat for he Labour Party throughout England and Wales, and the result in London therefore carried even more significant as it sealed a disastrous couple of days for Gordon Brown. |

Who thinks that the Yahoo7 I think this headline
demonstrates how parochial and
bigoted the Australian media,
and perhaps Australians
generally, are. I mean, this
headline appears online and is
viewed by possibly tens of
thousands of people in
Australia alone. How can the
editors of these 'news'

The police are doing the job they need to do. Shockingly in statistics most children come to harm by their own parents. Police therefore have to look into this and investigate ALL circumstances. Not saying they did it but there are questions raised that need answers. The police of both the UK and Portugal have a job to do and they should be allowed to do it unhindered and that is the best thing anyone can do for Madeleine right now. None of us are equipped to be armchair detectives and we were not there or at the scene so what we think is immaterial. It is silly to be pro or anti McCann as we don't know and could only base judgement of the case on fallable emotion not real facts or evidences or even experience that only the police have. The media only know as much as the police want to reveal and you get it third hand. |
