Navy Recruitment Question?
About 8 months ago I looked
into joining the Navy. I took
an ASVAB and scored 94/99.
There is a problem though
because when I first started
filling out my recruitment
papers my recruiters told me
not to put down that I had a
history of Seizures when I was
a kid (Don't know how old I
was when this happened). I
have since been told by some
people that if I join I will
be sent home for a fraudulent
enlistment. Is this true and
if so can it be cleared up to
the Navy's satisfaction before
the end of June. At 25 now if
I decide to join will I ever
be able to become an Officer
or earn a Bachelors Degree
while in the Navy.
Trying to get in for a Store
Keeper with my ASVAB score and
and Associates of Science in
Business Administration

Seizures are a Big Deal.
They may or may not be
waiverable, depending on when
your last one was, at what
age, and how long ago that
was. You will ABSOLUTELY need
a full consult, and a full
waiver package. That means:
1) Do. Not. Lie. To. MEPS.
2) Anyone whom tells you to
conceal this information is
AUTOMATICALLY Not. Your.
Friend.
3) Fraudulent Enlistment is
NOT the end of the world, but
it's nothing you want on YOUR
record!
4) Contact the
Recruiter-in-Charge (RinC) of
your recruiting station and
give him ALL the details. If
the RinC fails to support you,
contact the Zone Supervisor.
If the Zone Sup fails to
support you, contact the
Enlisted Programs Officer at
your Recruiting District.
4) Collect ALL medical
documentation on your
seizures, from ALL your
doctors, BEFORE going to MEPS
for your consult. And I do
mean ALL records.
Depending on timing, kind, how
old, and how long ago, you MAY
still be eligible for a
waiver. Do it right, and start
Right. Now. Time is short.
Good luck!

Navy Recruitment Tactics.. Any jobseekers have seen this?
Has anyone out there looking
for a job noticed these types
of ads that say, CONSTRUCTION
WORK, or POSTAL WORK, or
FIREFIGHTERS WANTED, and they
all say they provide training,
etc., and ask for people age
17+, willing to travel, in
good physical condition, high
school grads...
and the 1-800 number is a
regional navy recruitment
office.
anyone ever seen this?
I know it happens not just in
my local paper but all around
the country from a quick
google search.
is it legal? opinions?
by the way, the navy recruiter
I talked to the first time I
called when looking for a job
said that they put
"firefighters
wanted" because anyone
working on a ship learns how
to put out a fire.
Should have added on:
If you've seen it, what city
or state?

Both the army and the navy
have posted adds like that for
30 years. Nothing wrong with
it...they do have those jobs
available...and many more.
