Neopaganism is about as much a religion as Monotheism is. The only think we all have in common is that MOST of us are polytheist and even then we don't always agree. We're a difficult lot by nature what can I say. Now if you want some just general pagan books I have heard Drawing Down the Moon is good and Spiral Dance I think it's called. Scott Cunningham is usually praised and when I VERY first started it was one of the first books I read. It's a decent introduction to some basic concepts. Just know that with in paganism is traditions or denominations. THese include but are not limited to: Wicca Kemetic Asatru/Heathenism Hellenismo Eclectic Romano Celtic Recon Sumerian and a host more |

Where can I find information I'm interested in becoming a
Celtic neo-pagan. Where can I
find information about that?

If you are interested in Celtic Paganism then you will do best to look at the many resources available from Celtic Reconstructionist organizations and groups. Celtic Recon may not be what you are interested in but you'll find that the people who have dedicated themselves to following scholarly sources are far better sources of information than those who slap the word "Celtic" on a book or website without any understanding of the history, culture, and practices of the people who originally worshiped those gods. Here are some good resources - http://imbas.org - Celtic Recon site with many articles and links. http://paganachd.com/faq/index .html - The CR FAQ - this has tons of info and a very good book list. http://www.maryjones.us/ - lots of articles, links, and other resources. http://www.seanet.com/~inisgla s/ - website of respected CR elder, Erynn Rowan Laurie. Good articles and you can download her book "A Circle of Stones" for a small fee which is nice as the book is out of print and is often quite expensive to obtain elsewhere. http://www.cyberwitch.com/wych wood/Library/whenIsACeltNotACe lt.htm - I would recommend reading this essay to understand the difference between the good and the bad that exists out there with regard to sources on all things Celtic. This will help you understand why authors like DJ Conway and Edain McCoy are absolute rubbish. http://www.ucc.ie/celt/ - lots of texts In addition, I would recommend the following books - Celtic Gods and Heroes by Marie-Louise Sjoetedst - very short overview to Celtic myth. Myths and Symbols in Pagan Europe by HR Ellis Davidson - invaluable resource to history. The Apple Branch by Alexei Kondtratiev - not everyone likes this book but it's a nice resource if you can find a copy. Has some interesting things in it. Celtic Heritage by Alwynn and Brinley Rees - very good book on mythology. That would get you started and like I said, a couple of those sites have fantastic reading lists. |

Would Greek Neo-paganism help A number of people know about
the movements that are out
there to bring back the old
pre-Christian religions. And
one of the names for these
movements is neopaganism. And
there are a number of groups
that worship the Greek gods
and goddesses as well. So,
this is my question: If Greek
Neo Paganism were to become as
popular as Christianity,
Judaism, etc. Would it hurt or
help the world?

Yes.Everything that decreases popularity of abrahamic religions, will definitely help the world |
