I've flew out the door of a car when I was younger. We had just gone down a steep hill that curves and were probably going 25 mph and the door wasn't closed all the way and I flew out the door. It sucked- and I almost got ran over by another car. Amazingly I wasn't seriously injured, I had a lot of scratches and road rash though... Oww...my teeth hurt when I think about it... |

I think I know where you're coming from on this one, let me take a stab at it... 1) Initial collision when vehicle strikes object (other vehicle, tree, wall, etc). 2) Driver/passengers and objects inside vehicle that are not secured continue to move at the same speed until they strike something inside the vehicle (steering wheel, dashboard, seat backs, other passengers, etc) and stop -- hopefully... you can still get ejected, then it really gets wild. Occupants that are wearing their seat belts don't strike anything inside the vehicle, BUT can still be struck by objects or people that become missiles in a crash. 3) Internal organs keep moving in the direction you were going until they strike the skeleton (brain impacts the front of the skull, heart and lungs smash against the ribs, etc). So I guess there are thee types of collision within every motor vehicle collision. Hope that's what you meant. |
