Aged cheese (anything that is high in tyramine: also beer, wine, broad beans, beef or chicken liver, smoked meat/fish). This is because the enzyme being blocked, MAO, metabolizes tyramine, so you get a build up of it. |

Is Buproprion a Monoamine If not, does that mean I can
take over-the-counter cold
medications? The pharmacist
did not explain things
properly and my doctor is on
vacation, so no snide remarks
regarding the question,
please.

Yes, you can take cold medication. Just stay away from anything that contains pseudoephedrine. Wellbutrin and stimulants like that do not mix. Call another pharmacist. Just say, "I'm on Wellbutrin and I need to know what cold medication I can take with that." If you are on any other medications, tell them that, too. Don't stress about this. Here is more info on the medication. http://www.pdrhealth.com/drug_ info/rxdrugprofiles/drugs/wel1 488 |

They are used for depression and mood disorders. They are used once nothing else has worked because of the possible lethal and dietary side effects. |
