How many conservatives know Mossadegh nationalized his
country's oil industry, and
the ARAMCO and BP needed cheap
oil so the US overthrew
Mossadegh, known as Operation
Ajax. This was the first CIA
covert operation overthrowing
democratically elected
governments, but certainly not
the last. If I was Iranian I
would hate America too.
Actually it was President
Dwight Eisenhower in 1953 who
authorized this , not TRUMAN.

Allende, totally. He was a real interesting fella, and so was Mossadegh, but, I've read a lot about Allende, and anyone who's gonna include Pablo Neruda in his government has a lot going for him. |
