And yet in this entire list, you would find that many, if not most, had at the root of them one group trying to impose their will - and gods or god or the prophets thereof - onto another group. And in the cases where it was a straight dispute over territory or mineral rights or simply because someone ran away with the wrong girl, you would find that each group claimed the support of their own dieties that would help them prevail. Nothing incites the passion to fight than defense of ones religious beliefs. If it didn't, would you have bothered with that list...
I have a few questions aboutroman history?
Who Won the Byzantine-Persian War??? Who Won The 1st Macedonian War??? Who Won The 2nd Mithridatic War And Who Won The Roman-Gaulish Wars I Personally in my opinion think the romans won all of those wars but i have to make sure on experts at these kind of thing
1. There were 2 Byzantine-Persian wars (502 and 527 A.D.) and both were won under Justinian's reign. As Justinian was a Byzantian Emperor (i.e. leaning more toward a Greek background), you could declare him a "Roman" Emperor on formal grounds, but remember that, at that time, Rome was occupied by barbarian tribes coming from North, and the Western side of the "Roman" empire hardly meant anything then. 2. Formally, Scipio Africanus (i.e. a Roman) won the 1st Macedonian over Philip V of Macedonia by 205 B.C. 3. Again a Roman, Flavius Fimbria could defeat Mithridate's army in 85 BC at a handsome cost for both parties involved. 4. Caius Julius Caesar, then a Consul and an ill-inspired initiator of the Roman Empire did the job to win the Roman-Gallic wars, aside from other successful, and less famous Roman generals.
