Mein Kampf?
Has anyone read Mein Kampf? Is
it good? I read a summary and
it sounded good. And also, if
it allowed in schools? Because
I've heard of a lot of kids
getting in trouble for writing
reports on it.
Okay, I know Mein Kampf means
My Struggle, I know it's by
Adolf Hitler, I know that he
forced schools to read it. I
just want YOUR OPINION on it,
not a WHOLE HISTORY on the
book. Thank you.

I haven't read it but imagine it would be fascinating to get an insight into the mind of one of history's greatest monsters. The book was written whilst he was in prison and way before he had taken control of the party that was to become the Nazi's. Your school has no legal right to discipline you for reading this book, it is publicly available, just like the Bible or Great Expectations. I am so gonna buy Mein Kampf tomorrow. |

Surely most major bookstores will stock it. However, I've heard that Hitler, while extreme in his actions and speeches, was very boring as a philosopher (and, it goes without saying, intolerably evil). Not that I'm trying to dissuade you from buying it, I just thought I'd give you a heads up. |

nazis because they brought
huge income in. Is this true?

It did make lots of money but the money went to Hitler directly. The first volume was published in July1925 the second in December 1926. Sales increased rapidly after electoral prominence of the NSDAP in the early 30's. By 1933 he could refuse the salary of the Chancellorship because he was already rich on the royalties. |
