Madrid?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I was wondering if where Madrid was geographically? like was it by the water, mountains?? and the population of madrid?? thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly, not a long time ago Madrid was not bigger than a little VILLAGE at the southern border of the Central Mountain Range, but in the 17th century it was CHOSEN by the king Felipe II as the capitol city of Spain for being in the centre of the peninsula ( in that times Portugal belonged to the king of Spain ). Now, it is one of the biggest Europeancitiess! (before that it was the city of Valladolid, and previously there hadn't been a capitol) So it is in a plane near that mountains, in the region called New Castilla ( Castilla la Nueva ), but it isnowadayss a different Autonomous Community (like a state) ( Comunidad de Madrid ). It was near a little river, the Manzanares River, wich is drynowadayss, and there are SEVEN underground water channel which collect water from the surrounding mountains and transport them to the city. The first one was built, I think, in the 19th century, in times of the queen Isabel II.
Where in Madrid can I find anall-you-can eat buffet withamazing food in fabuloussurroundings?
I've been to amazing buffets in Taipei at hotels like the Shangri La and the Grand Hyatt with counters full of fresh shellfish and sushi and curry and ice cream and fancy desserts and all sorts of different cuisine. Does anyone know if such a place exists in Madrid? It's a long shot, but I'd be grateful for recommendations for a special dinner. Thanks!
Try to search in Google or MSN.
Where in Madrid can you buyreasonably priced originalpaintings from local artists?
Hi. I will be in Madrid for 1 day on Sunday, April 26. I am interested in buying original paintings. Any good places or flea markets? Thanks.
Although not being too familiar with Madrid I'd say that you'll have no trouble in finding paintings by local artists. In these recessionary times they'll all be desperate to sell anything. There's a small park area in front of El Prado where I think there's some sort of "railing" show some days, and in some of the squares in the old town you'll find a few things. Best to get a good guidebook and do a bit of research. PS. I've just put "local artists Madrid" into a search and there's some useful info there.
