Languages without writingsystems?
Could you guys list some languages that don't have any writing systems of their own.
The majority of languages are without a writing system of its own if we count each language by the same weight. One estimate proposes a figure of around 6,100 out of 6,500 classified languages to be without a writing system. Some languages without a writing system Ainu of Japan and the lower Amur in East Siberia
African writing systems?
Further to criticism of my question about an indigenous Afrcan writing system I have done some research and found the following listed? Did you know about these African writing systems? I wonder how much has been lost too. Ethiopic Writing System (Geez) Afan-Oromo Script Amharic Syllographs Ethiopic System w/ Numeric Values Bassa Script Meroitic Script Vai Syllabry Mende Script Nsibidi Akan Adinkra Wabuti Tifingh This also excluded Egyptian Hieroglyphics. Did you know that our Western Alphabet is also descended from Hieropglyphics via Phoenician and so is technically "African" in origin too!!! Why do historians always forget or actively ignore the African connection or origin to things and then claim that the West has done everything and that Africans are just a bunch of ignorant spear-chucking savages? http://www.library.cornell.edu /africana/Writing_Systems/List _of_Scripts.html Conservation- the Romans had spears too, by the way the Roman mathematical system was a nightmare and the one we use, our current numbers, originated in the East and was brought to Europe by the Arabs. Darth- follow the links and you will see that there were African books, Western scholars ignored them completely. Anyway, most people in Europe were illiterate up until 150 years ago too.
This is very interesting. This should at least prove that we Africans are not as primitive as the world thinks we are. Here's an interesting link i found http://www.tamarin.com/king/ki nge11.html
Have anyone of you everinvented a writing system justfor fun?
I invented one writing system that has more than 36,000 characters. It's not like the Chinese and Japanese characters you would usually see. It's more like the Korean writing sytem but a lot more combinations. The 36,000 characters are the combinations of: c, v, c-v, c-v-c, c-v-c-v, v-c, and c-c. c = consonant v = vowel It's very easy to memorize it. Just plug in the letters from my alphabet into groups of combinations of consonants and vowels. (I like to invent and explore!) Also, please list some sites where I can find other writing systems. Thank you all! : ) Here's my example of my "made up" language (This is in English equivalent form): moy neplic nac oyu pe'lsae? Can you get my pencil please? Te'h last'a saps'a pe'lsae. Pass the salt please. Moy giw te'h Uchene sah! The Queen has my wig! cool huh? a=a as in "sat" e=e as in "pet" i= i as in "beat" o=o as in "moat" u=u as in "boot" This will help you pronounce the words in my "made up" language.
