...Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation, LASER (laser), is a mechanism for emitting light within the electromagnetic radiation region of the spectrum, via the process of stimulated emission. The emitted laser light is (usually) a spatially coherent, narrow low-divergence beam, that can be manipulated with lens. In laser technology, “coherent light” denotes a light source that produces (emits) light of in-step waves of identical frequency and phase. Conceptual physics, Paul Hewitt, 2002 The laser’s beam of coherent light differentiates it from light sources that emit incoherent light beams, of random phase varying with time and position; whereas the laser light is a narrow-wavelength electromagnetic spectrum monochromatic light; yet, there are lasers that emit a broad spectrum light, or simultaneously, at different wavelengths. Laser.........?
I have this cheap laser
pointer (~ $30) from
RadioShack. I wish to modify
it, but I cannot remove the
actual laser and microchip
from its encasement. I've seen
many where the top screw out,
mine doesn't. Any suggestions
as to how I might go about
removing it?
Without breaking the laser
component....

Can multiple lasers of the Also, if multiple lasers of
the same strength overlapped
each other would they meld
into one laser of the strength
of an idividual laser or
slightly increase in strength
from the lasers grouping
together due to overlapping?
What would happen if multiple
lasers of different strength
hit each other at the same
time? Would the strongest
laser override the weaker
lasers?

Only if the phases match precisely, otherwise they will destructively interfere and reduce the yield. Coherent combination of lasers is an active are of research, especially with fiber lasers, to increase the power output. Think of it as two water waves combining. |

Laser surgery is the only way I have a big thick scar that
has been bothering me for over
a year. I heard of Bio Oil,
but I don't think it'll get
rid of that scar completely.
So is laser surgery the only
way to get rid of that scar?
If not, then what other ways
are there? Will there be any
side effects from laser
surgery?

Yes there can be many side affect from laser surgery. And you have to really look after your skin (like not go into direct sunlight.) The best advice I can give you is to consult your doctor b4 you do anything. |

Going to buy a laser pointer and are thinking of buying a 125mW model at www.dragonlasers.com I know they are cheap and have good service BUT do their lasers have good burning ability and divergence?
