dont care about RAM because i

mobility. i also want devcent
battery life.
(of course i;m not expecting a
whole lot) im not an idot that
thinks that laptops are for
gaming. Dont tell me to get a
desktop because i already hav
a q9450, Zotac 8800 gt amp, 2

same projector, different so today I was testing various
notebook computers by hooking
up the VGA monitor out to a
50' VGA cable, the other end
which was connected to a Sim2
HT305. Of the 5 I tested, 2
worked fine, and the other 3
it couldn't find a signal. A
guy from Dell tech support
suggested different laptops
might output more power to the
VGA out. He said 50' was
pushing it without an amp.
anyone else experience this or
get to the bottom of it?

O yeah I work in A/V and run into this problem all the time we usually drop in a amplifier at the source and the problem is solved. If we run over 50' we use 5 wire RGBHV hose with vga adapters as it is much more reliable. Another problem you can run into is that when running video clips it will show video on the laptop screen and not the Projector this means you have to send signal only to the projector as the video card does not have enough to push both. (processing wise) |
