...More broadly, the use of the term labelling is often intended to highlight the fact that the label is a description applied from the outside, rather than something intrinsic to the labelled thing. This can be done for several reasons:
- To provoke a discussion about what the best description is
- To reject a particular label
- To reject the whole idea that the labelled thing can be described in a short phrase.

Labelling =/?
I'm starting to get really
angry about labelling.
All of these people are like
"What do emos wear" and
"How can you be emo" or
"How can you be a rocker/Indie
etc"
It's really annoying because
then you get these people who
have no idea about anything
and AHH
does anyone get what I mean?
If you do, ur just awesome =D

I get what you mean. It's not so much the labels I hate, I can get over those one will always be labeled no matter what it is. It's just the constant stupid questions about these labels (like some of your examples) and the..."abuse" of them. Like calling anyone who wears black all the time goth or emo. It's stupid, not so much because there are labels, but because of the idiots who use them all the time and have no idea what they're talking about. |

Why are feminists ok with Labelling all men seems to be
perfectly acceptable to them -
which in reality, is sexism.
But, if anyone labels all
feminists - they get all
twitchy and upset about it,
yet labelling feminists is not
sexism (as feminism is an
ideology, not a sex, and men &
women can be feminists).
So why is sexism acceptable
but they then twist an anti
ideology (anti feminism) into
"you hate women" (a common
response from feminists to
anyone questioning the
movement)?
Is it just another double
standard?

The funny thing is a person is born male or female they have no choice in the matter and cannot weigh up the good and bad and make an informed decision in the womb which gender they want. A feminist however CHOOSES to become one they then must accept that they are supporting the radicals in their midst because quite frankly they have taken over modern feminism really and no one speaks out against them. A feminist becomes one because they agree with it and can easily decide when to not be one. Plus there are over 3billion males i am sure there is greater difference between males then a group which has joined together because they have similar views. |

Does anyone know why Morrisons Morrisons have been selling
''Steam and Serve' Tikka
marinated chicken and pilau
rice' with labelling that
didn't list milk as an
ingredient. Now they have
changed the labelling, has
anyone else noticed this?

No, but I think it is a good idea to know exactly what we eat, companies have been a bit vague in the past and not listing everything. |
