Jeffersonians because Hamilton was a Conservative and a federalist who wanted to have more government power than that of people. He wanted the system that Britain had that the richer you were the more power you have. After the revolution the US decided to make everyone equal and that's why they got rid \of inheritance of property and " king" that's why we call the president just Mr. president. Jefferson wanted more people's rights and go by the Constitution which basically said the only power the government has is to protect the rights of the people. This what America lives by today.Hamilton wanted "consolidation" which was to concentrate the power. this is not what we live by today. He feared democracy because it was a threat to the government but we have a democracy today. Basically he wanted the same type of government as Britain did but a little more liberal. |
