The annual rendezvous for the early mountain men was one of reunions, wrestling, games, fights, horse races, weaponry competition, and much more. There, the men met with friendly Indians and, except for Jedediah Smith, got drunk a lot, rampaged and ravished women when they were available. The most famous rendezvous places in Western America was Jackson Hole, Wyoming. To my recollection, Jackson Hole celebrates the annual rendezvous' in high-style fun. |
