I know both those authors work, especially Jaqueline Carey (I wrote her a letter and she wrote me back)... Juliet Marillier Sharon Shinn Authors that compare to Carey is a little hard because she is so original in her novels, but both those authors write novels from ancient times like her...there isent a ton of sex in it if thats part of what your looking for... If thats the case, I would try books by Laurell K. Hamilton...she doesn vampire and fariy books...love them, but they do get very sexual... |

She refers to it as the Sundering duology herself, so it doesn't look like any third book will be forthcoming. |

Anyone read Jacqueline Carey?
I am looking for authors that
are similar in style to
Jacqueline Carey. I finished
"Kushiel's Scion" last week

Depends on what your looking for. Carey is undoubtedly in a category of her own. I am assuming you'ved already Kushiel's Dart and the other books in that series. If you are looking for "high fantasy" type books I would suggest Robin Hobb's Assassin's Apprentice series. Ann Marsh's Cloudbearer'sShadow series, The Curse of Chalion series by Lois McMaster Bujold etc. I would reccomend the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, as it is High Fantasy, but the series is also wayyyyyyyyy to dragged out so you might want to check that out. If you looking for some romance I've always enjoyed Karin Monings Highlander's series and anything by Jude Deverauex. For something more on the eros side try Jaid Black's "the possession" . |
