...Intolerance was a colossal undertaking filled with monumental sets, lavish period costumes, and more than 3,000 extras. The film consisted of four distinct but parallel stories that demonstrated mankind's intolerance during four different ages in world history. The timeline covered approximately 2,500 years, beginning with: Read full entry

How is this for intolerance? A CAIR (Council on
American-Islamic Relations)

Isn't this rather
hypocritical? An organization
ostensibly formed to better
the relationship between
Americans and followers of
Islam bans a Christian network
from its press conference? How
does this help foster
understanding and mutual
respect?

CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), is none other than another Muslim ruse to infiltrate the American society and governmental system as a moderate Islamic organization that loves all non-Muslims and abhors injustice. I am sorry for those who fell in CAIR's trap, for CAIR has deep Islamic beliefs that are not compatible with non-Muslims and Democracy...BEWARE OF CAIR!!! |

I assume you are talking about the movie from 1971 which starred Oliver Reed and Vanessa Redgrave. In any case Islam does not tolerate criticism of the religion. From the review of the movie that I read it seems that many who viewed it thought that it was controversial and sacrilegious. A comedy like "The Life Of Bryan" if it were about the Muslim faith would bring death threats from all over the globe. Remember what they did to Salman Rushdie? He had a million dollar bounty on his head. I'm sure he has to watch his back constantly. Also don't forget what happened to Theo Van Gogh. Now that you've brought the movie ,"The Devils", to my attention I will certainly have to find it. |

Why did we have to throw away etc
I would agree that we have
made necessary progress in
many areas such as race
relations etc but surely even
liberals have to admit that
generally people were more
civil and courteous to each
other in the 50s.
Also, I agree that it is
important for some films to be
realistic and project social
comment, but was it such a bad
thing when most Hollywood
films were uplifting and had a
positive message (ie not just

There was a lot more good than bad about America in the 50s, but, a generation of spoiled brats that came of age in the 60s decided that, since American society was flawed, it had to be torn down and re-built to thier specifications. |
